UnitedHealth Group Inc. acquires former ADC Telecommunications Inc. headquarters in Eden Prairie

UnitedHealth Group Inc. closed Thursday on its acquisition of the 450,000 square-foot former ADC Telecommunications complex from the Switzerland based company Tyco. Tyco had acquired ADC in december of last year for $1.25 billion and has recently announced it would be selling the ADC campus.
UnitedHealth's interest in the capus was realeased by The Business Journal in March, although terms of this deal have not yet been released, the transaction is expected to be less than Hennepin County's assessed value for the property of $44 million.
OptumHealth, a division of UnitedHealth will begin moving into the next few months serving as headquarters for UnitedHealth Group's unified health services business that includes OptumHealth, OptumInsight, and OptumRx.
Serving more than 60 million people with more than 30,000 employees, OptumHealth feels that the Eden Prairie campus will be an excellent facility for employees to collaborate and serve clients with a full range of capabilities.
